Foster Application

DO NOT FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT. If you want to adopt a pet, great and thank you! Go to 8315 Byrum Dr to adopt a pet; this includes meeting a foster parent's adoptable pet.

This application is only meant to be filled out by people who want to give a shelter animal a break from the kennels, provide a safe and warm place for those with medical issues, or help a scared animal become more confident.

IMPORTANT: You must read all of the Foster Guidelines before filling out this application.

Any Charlotte area citizen, Animal Care & Control employee or volunteer may participate in the foster program after the fostering application is approved. You do not have to be a full AC&C volunteer to participate, so spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors!

AC&C will provide all medications, veterinary care, and pet food. Crates and other supplies will be supplied if available. Please make sure to ask the foster coordinator for what you need!

The foster coordinator will frequently send out emails of animals that need foster so you will be kept updated on who needs what. Also, if you see an animal that you would like to foster that isn't on the foster emails sent out, please contact the foster coordinator.

The next section below are the Agreement, Waiver, and Release. You must read each one and then check marking each one will alert us that you have read and understand this section.

I understand that although AC&C takes reasonable care to screen animals for foster care placement, it makes no guarantee relating to the animals’ health, behavior or actions. I understand that I receive foster care animals at my own risk. I indemnify and hold AC&C and the City of Charlotte free and harmless from all liability arising out of any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, action, judgment of every kind and description which may occur to or be suffered by me, members of my household, or any third parties by reason of activities arising out of this agreement.
