Temporary Outdoor Dining Registration

Any restaurant that wishes to establish new or additional outdoor dining areas in order to operate consistent with the State of North Carolina Phase 2 – Easing of Restrictions is required to register temporary outdoor dining with the City of Charlotte and comply with the requirements outlined in the COVID-19 Outdoor Dining Guidelines. Please fill out the form below.

Number of indoor seats with executive order restrictions (no more than 50 percent of building occupancy which includes staff)

Days of the week and hours new/additional outdoor seating will be used (ex. Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Landlord/property owner authorizing the new/additional outdoor seating

Email address for Landlord/property owner authorizing the new/additional outdoor seating (an email from the landlord/property owner is sufficient and must be sent to outdoordining@charlottenc.gov)

Date that the new/additional outdoor seating is proposed to begin:

This restaurant agrees to the following (all boxes must be selected to participate in the program):

The temporary outdoor dining will adhere to all State and local laws

The temporary outdoor and indoor dining seating will not exceed 100% of the certified building capacity

The temporary outdoor seating will not exceed 49 people.

The temporary outdoor dining will cease on August 20, 2020 or with the Governor’s Order allowing 100% occupancy indoors, whichever is soonest

The temporary outdoor dining will not have a tent structure that exceed 800 square feet of area

The temporary outdoor dining will not include a platform, electricity or plumbing

The temporary outdoor will maintain ADA accessibility standards

The new temporary outdoor dining will be inspected by the Fire Marshal (to schedule an inspection, contact the Fire Marshal at 704-336-8374)
