Street Tree Planting Request Form

City of Charlotte residents may request a FREE tree to be planted in the city's right-of-way (ROW) in front of your property. Please refer to the graphic below showing city tree maintenance areas (ROW widths vary).

The right-of-way is typically the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street. If your street does not have sidewalks, you can call 704.336.4262 to help determine if the tree in question is in the right-of-way

This is a FREE service from the City of Charlotte's Arborist Team. Just fill out the form below and an arborist will visit your property to assess possible tree-planting locations and work with you to determine what best fits your needs and meets the city's planting criteria.

NOTE: Tree-planting locations will be evaluated year-round, with planting occuring only between January and April.
