Need A Speaker Request Form

The Need A Speaker program connects neighborhood groups, civic organizations, business associations, homeowner associations, special interest groups such as book clubs, and other community groups with knowledgeable City of Charlotte or Mecklenburg County staff for informative and engaging conversations about local government.

Depending on your group’s needs, you may request:

A speaker or panelist with specific expertise on your desired local government topic.
A city or county resource information/vendor table hosted by staff at your event (typically for community events with multiple vendors or exhibitors)
Other special requests, including - but not limited to - staff visits featuring vehicles such as fire trucks or solid waste vehicle appearances.

Please note: Most requests require a minimum of two-weeks advance notice. Special requests - such as Fire Department or Solid Waste Services vehicles - can require 30-days or more. Staff will make every effort to attend community events as their schedules allow.

To make a request for your event, complete the form below and provide details about your request. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed. When you are finished, click the Submit button. We will make every effort to contact you within two business days regarding your request.

Please indicate what you are requesting. For other types of requests not listed - including vehicle appearances such as fire trucks, etc. - use the text field provided.

REQUEST A SPEAKER for a specific event. (A speaker request generally means a city or county staff member will join your event to share information and answer questions on your chosen topic, either through a formal presentation or an informational discussion.)

REQUEST A RESOURCE INFORMATION TABLE hosted by City or County staff (This option differs from a speaker request and is typically intended for community events that feature multiple vendors or exhibitors.)
